Baku, November 11, AZERTAC
“I have a lot of expectations from COP29. First of all, the people that are attending this magnificent event are very delighted to be here. You have been wonderful host. So far, everything has been organized at a high level. The city is beautiful. It's always very happy to be here in this beautiful city,” Elvis Antonio Alam Lora, Ambassador of the Dominican Republic to Azerbaijan with residence in Ankara, told AZERTAC.
Highlighting the negative impacts of climate change, the diplomat added: We are an island in the middle of Caribbean Sea. We are in the heart of the Americas. So of course, with the climate change, it will affect us a lot. Because we have a lot of coast. And many towns could have an impact, serious impact, with the climate change. We have implemented a lot of projects, new projects of energy, solar energy, dams, as well. So we are doing our part. But we are a tiny country. So we have done our part so far.”
