Government of Japan implements one more project in Shaki region
Baku, July 4 (AZERTAC). A project on “Reconstruction of old water systems in Bolludere and Garatorpag villages” in Shaki region was completed within the Japan`s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP).
Japan`s ambassador to Azerbaijan Shusuke Watanabe participated in the ceremony.
Ambassador said these projects covering education, medicine, social welfare, environment and ecology fields are being implemented in the country to improve the living standards of people. Total amount of the projects are US $ 101 000. He said up to now 154 projects worth US $ 11, 812, 000 have been implemented in Azerbaijan within the Grassroots Human Security Projects.
The residents thanked the government of Japan for solution of the water problems.
Shaki`s public union “Center for ecology and education” presented the project to the Japanese government. In September 2011, the Embassy of Japan and the Public Union signed the agreement on implementation of the project.
The cooperation between the government of Japan and executive authority of Shaki has been continued during 12 years. Up to now, 12 projects in amount of US $ 913 000 have been realized in Shaki.
