HEYDAR ALIYEV FOUNDATION`S PRESIDENT MEETS RUSSIAN MPs AND JOURNALISTS
Baku, 22 January (AZERTAC). President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador, MP Mehriban Aliyeva has met today members of the Russian State Duma and representatives of the country`s leading mass media who are here to attend the Azerbaijan-Russia Forum on humanitarian cooperation.
Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva stressed the necessity of holding the Forum annually, saying “such events are important in terms of real steps towards future”.
She underlined cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia in various spheres was continuing successfully.
Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva also briefed the visitors on activities of the Foundation, saying it studies and popularizes Heydar Aliyev`s rich heritage, and carries out various socio-economic and cultural projects, which, she added, serves progress of Azerbaijan and popularization of the country`s culture and history.
Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva also noted there was care in Azerbaijan for development of the Russian language. She added Russian-language secondary schools and higher education institutions function in her country.
She also underlined the necessity of boosting humanitarian cooperation between the two countries even more.
The visitors, in turn, said the Forum would contribute to developing cooperation between the two countries in various areas.
