Polish WUF13 participants visit Azerbaijan’s Lankaran district

Polish participants in the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) visited Azerbaijan’s Lankaran district.
During a meeting with Head of the Lankaran District Executive Authority Taleh Garashov, the sides discussed prospects for establishing sister-city relations between Lankaran and Lublin.
Taleh Garashov emphasized that friendly and cooperative ties between Azerbaijan and Poland are developing successfully.
He also briefed the guests on Lankaran’s history, geographical location, socio-political life, and socio-economic development.
The Polish guests stated that Azerbaijan has made significant progress in recent years.
They also praised the successful foreign policy pursued by President Ilham Aliyev.
The delegation emphasized the importance of expanding the existing friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Poland through intercity cooperation.
Mariusz Sagan, Director of the Department of Strategy and Investor Service at the Lublin City Office, noted that Poland is interested in establishing cooperation between Lublin and Lankaran in the fields of culture, tourism, agriculture, and education, adding that there is considerable potential for expanding bilateral cooperation in these areas.
The Polish delegation also visited the district’s tourist attractions, historical landmarks, and natural sites.
