Political consultations held between Foreign Ministries of Azerbaijan and the Netherlands

On June 24, political consultations were held in The Hague between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The Azerbaijani delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Fariz Rzayev, while the Dutch delegation was led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Marcel de Vink.
The consultations featured an exchange of views on the current state and prospects of Azerbaijan–Netherlands relations, measures to further strengthen bilateral cooperation, as well as regional and international issues.
The sides emphasized the importance of reciprocal official visits, maintaining regular contacts, and holding meetings on the sidelines of international events to further deepen political dialogue.
They also exchanged views on priority areas for expanding economic cooperation. The importance of strengthening people-to-people ties through enhanced cooperation in the fields of culture, science, and education was likewise emphasized.
During the consultations, the Azerbaijani side briefed the participants on the current situation in the region, the Azerbaijan–Armenia peace process, and the ongoing large-scale restoration, reconstruction, and demining efforts in the liberated territories.
The sides also exchanged views on issues on the international agenda and shared their positions on cooperation within multilateral platforms, as well as mutual support for candidacies.
The consultations concluded with an exchange of views on other regional and international issues of mutual interest.
During the visit, Fariz Rzayev also held meetings with a number of Dutch officials and participated in a roundtable discussion organized by leading think tanks.
