Goygol, January 21 (AZERTAC). President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has visited the country’s city of Goygol following his Ganja trip.

The Head of State laid flowers at a monument to national leader Heydar Aliyev.

Head of the Goygol City Executive Authorities Arif Seyidov informed President Ilham Aliyev about the construction and remodeling works carried out around the monument.

President Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of the Flag Square Complex as part of his visit to Goygol.

The Head of State was informed on the conditions created at the complex, as well as the “Museum of Attributes of State of Azerbaijan”.

The construction of the complex started in May, 2012.

Azerbaijan’s national flag which flies on a 50 meter high pole was installed in the complex.

The Head of State viewed a photo stand reflecting the construction of the Flag Square.

The territory of the Flag Square complex was covered with greenery, and the complex now was one of the beautiful places of the city.

President Ilham Aliyev also visited the “Museum of Attributes of State of Azerbaijan”.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev also attended a ceremony to start supply of drinking water to the city of Goygol.

The Head of State was informed that the implementation of the new water line project was carried out in 3 phases.

The project uses the Kurekchay River as a source of supplying the city with drinking water.

President Ilham Aliyev was informed that along with Goygol the water line also would continuously provide Togana, Chaykend, Yeni Zod, Goychekend, Mikhaylovka, Hajikend, and Ashigli villages with the drinking water.

The plant will provide about 29 thousand city residents with 72 liters of water per second, and 10 thousand residents of the villages with 18 liters of drinking water per second.

As part of the project, 6 water reservoirs with 1000 cubic meters capacity were also constructed.

The collection and transition of the waste water will be fulfilled through 134,555 running meters of sewerage pipeline and 3 sewerage-pump stations.

The installation of the complex of the waste water purification plants with capacity of 5,500 cubic meters of water a day had been going on as part of the 3rd phase of implementation of the project.

The complex will start to operate during the first quarter of the year.

President Ilham Aliyev then launched the installation to supply of drinking water to the city of Goygol.

President Ilham Aliyev then inaugurated the Goygol Olympic Complex.

The Head of State cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the complex.

Minister of youth and sports Azad Rahimov informed the President about the Goygol Olympic complex.

The Minister noted that the construction of the complex started in late 2010 under the State Program on socio economic development of regions for 2009-2013.

Photo stands reflecting meetings of national leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev with representatives of general public, as well as athletes of Goygol were installed in the foyer of the building.

Gyms at the complex were provided with the modern sports equipment. The complex also has a state-of-art swimming pool, wrestling, universal sports, chess, and boxing gyms, a universal 780-seat sports hall, as well as rooms for coaches, a conference hall, and other necessary cabinets.

The infrastructure of the complex meets modern conditions.

A 1300-seat stadium also was constructed at the yard of the Goygol Olympic Complex.

The Head of State was informed on the important achievements of the Goygol sportsmen gained at international, as well as local tournaments.

The city of Goygol has 2 European and 14 World Champions of different kinds of sports.

President Ilham Aliyev then addressed the event.

President Ilham Aliyev also attended the opening of the Heydar Aliyev Center in the city of Goygol.

President Ilham Aliyev first viewed the Heydar Aliyev Park.

The Head of State was informed about the Park which was constructed on the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

The Heydar Aliyev Center and Youth Center, as well as cinema, and children’s entertainment center at the park meets modern standards.

The Green Theatre at the park was repaired. A gym for table games with special attractions for children was created here.

President Ilham Aliyev then cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the Heydar Aliyev Center at the park.

A bust to national leader Heydar Aliyev was installed at the foyer of the Center. The Heydar Aliyev Museum was also established at the center to investigate the national leader’s heritage.

The center has assembly and conference halls, an e-library, a photo studio, a chess hall, as well as a 3D cinema theatre.

President Ilham Aliyev also viewed the Youth Center in Goygol as part of his visit to the district.

The Head of State was informed about the activity of the center which was the most favorite place of the youth in Goygol.

The center houses an internet-café, a disco, and other types of entertainment, as well as a modern hall for holding interesting events.
