SOLIDARITY DAY OF AZERBAIJANIS MARKED IN WORLD COUNTRIES
Baku, 30 December (AZERTAC). The embassy of Azerbaijan in China has organized an event to mark Solidarity Day of World Azerbaijanis.
The event brought together employees of the embassy, students and businessmen.
Opening the event, Ambassador Yashar Aliyev said the holiday was established by the Supreme Majlis of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic in December 1991 at the initiative of national leader Heydar Aliyev.
The diplomat noted national leader Heydar Aliyev`s policy had successfully been continued by President Ilham Aliyev.
He also briefed the participants on the ongoing economic reforms in Azerbaijan.
The message of President Ilham Aliyev to world Azerbaijanis on the Solidarity Day was read out in the event.

Another event to celebrate Solidarity Day of World Azerbaijanis was held in Donetsk city of Ukraine.
The event was attended by local officials and representatives of the Congress of Azerbaijanis in Ukraine.
Speakers at the event told of the importance of the holiday in terms of contribution towards bringing together Azerbaijanis across the world.
They also praised the activity of the Azerbaijani Diaspora in Ukraine.

President of the Federation of Turkey-Azerbaijan Communities Bilal Dundar has held a press conference on Solidarity Day of World Azerbaijanis.
Dundar said the holiday was established at the initiative of Azerbaijan`s national leader Heydar Aliyev.
He noted “Turkey needs such solidarity because of the ongoing problems in the country.”
Dundar underlined the importance of activities of the Azerbaijani and Turkish Diaspora organizations across the world, adding they must make more vigorous efforts to rise the world community`s awareness about the Armenian terror.
