“THERE IS GOOD BASIS FOR DEVELOPMENT OF TIES”, MIKHAIL SHVIDKOY
Baku, January 22 (AZERTAC). “There are many Azerbaijanis in Russia and many people in Azerbaijan who consider themselves Russian-speaking, the people of Russian culture. We have good basis for developing ties,” Mikhail Shvidkoy, special representative of the Russian President for international and cultural ties said in Baku Forum of humanitarian cooperation.
“Today, ongoing processes in Azerbaijan, certainly, arouse admiration among the Russian people. What the late President of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev did and the incumbent president Ilham Aliyev continues, is, of course, important for stability in region and the entire post-soviet space. And it is because of respect for the country, its history and present, many outstanding figures of the Russian culture, Russian education, Russian science and Russian political elite have accepted this invitation”, Shvidkoy emphasized.
