Victims of Khojaly tragedy commemorated in Ukraine
Baku, February 18 (AZERTAC). A ceremony to remember Khojaly genocide victims has taken place in Nikolayev, Ukraine.
The event, initiated by the Islamic Conference Youth Forum for Dialogue and Cooperation and the Ukrainian Azerbaijani Youth Union, was dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Khojaly tragedy.
Officials of Nikolayev province, activists of the Azerbaijani Diaspora and journalists participated in the event.
Addressing the event, deputy Chairman of the Centre for culture and education after Heydar Aliyev in the Nikolayev region, Yunus Aliyev, spoke of Armenia`s acts of genocide and policy of ethnic cleansing against Azerbaijanis.
Speakers condemned the vandalism committed by Armenians against Khojaly civilians, including children and women.
They called on international organizations and the international community to give a legal and political assessment to Khojaly genocide.
