Baku, February 25, AZERTAC
An awareness-raising campaign dedicated to the 34th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide was held in Washington, the U.S. capital.
The initiative of the American-Azerbaijani Youth and Sports Association was supported by Azerbaijan’s State Committee on Work with Diaspora.
The campaign involved the trucks with a LED screen reflecting the realities of the Khojaly genocide, as they drove through the central streets of Washington screening slogans such as “Honoring the victims, cherishing their memory”, “From tragedy to memory - Khojaly lives on”, “Raise awareness, seek justice, and stand in solidarity”, “Khojaly - their courage and pain remain with us”, “34 years later Khojaly still speaks.”
The vehicles also featured the QR code highlighting detailed information about the tragedy.
The similar rallies were held across different cities of the U.S., including New York, and Boston.
