Azerbaijan keen to strengthen cooperation with UN

Anar Aliyev, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, met with Dmytro Shlapachenko, the UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan.
Minister Anar Aliyev emphasized that Azerbaijan attaches particular importance to a close and sustainable partnership with the UN. He expressed confidence that Shlapachenko would make a significant contribution to further strengthening this cooperation during his tenure in Azerbaijan.
The UN Resident Coordinator commended the fruitful cooperation between UN agencies and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population in areas related to social reforms implemented in Azerbaijan and efforts to support socially vulnerable groups.
The meeting highlighted the importance of the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework for 2026–2030, signed by the Azerbaijani Government and the UN.
In this regard, the officials discussed upcoming cooperation under the framework in various areas of the ministry’s activities, particularly human capital development, the promotion of decent working conditions, and the strengthening of the social protection system.
