International travelers tour Shusha
Shusha, October 8, AZERTAC
A group of around 40 members of the world-renowned MTP (Most Traveled People) international travelers’ club explored Shusha as part of a visit to Garabagh and East Zangezur. Led by American traveler Charles Veley, founder of the MTP club, the delegation brings together travelers from 13 countries.
The travelers visited Shusha’s central square, where they viewed the bullet-riddled monuments of Natavan, Bulbul and Uzeyir Hajibeyli. They were briefed on the city’s history, its condition during the 30-year occupation, and ongoing restoration efforts. Following its liberation, large-scale reconstruction launched to restore Shusha’s historic character, cultural heritage sites and infrastructure.
The travelers then toured the Ashaghi Govhar Agha Mosque, Sadigjan’s House Museum, the house of Khurshidbanu Natavan, the site of the Khan’s Daughter Spring, and the fortress walls of Shusha. They concluded their visit at the Jidir Duzu plain, enjoying Shusha's breathtaking natural scenery.
This marks the 17th group visit by leading international travelers’ clubs to Garabagh and East Zangezur in 2021–2026. Such visits provide travelers with an opportunity to see firsthand ongoing large-scale reconstruction and restoration efforts in the liberated territories.
