Baku, October 8, AZERTAC
Kenya’s leading media outlets, Tuko, The Star, and KBC, have published articles highlighting growing cooperation with Azerbaijan.
The reports highlight recent reciprocal visits between the two countries, including Kenyan President William Samoei Ruto’s visit to Azerbaijan this year to attend the 13th session of the World Urban Forum in Baku, as well as his meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov’s first official visit to Kenya in 2025.
According to the reports, the emerging partnership is focused on several areas, including oil and gas, infrastructure, renewable energy, agriculture, trade, defense, technology, justice, security, urban development, and correctional services.
The humanitarian assistance provided in Kenya in the areas of education, youth development, culture, and healthcare during Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva’s visit to the country in December 2024, as well as through the Azerbaijan International Development Agency (AIDA), was also highlighted.
The reports noted that the educational scholarships awarded to Kenyan youth under the “Heydar Aliyev International Education Grant” program are an important means of strengthening the bonds of friendship and partnership between the peoples of the two countries.
