Azerbaijan’s Central Bank Governor addresses Istanbul Economic Forum

Taleh Kazimov, Governor of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), addressed the Istanbul Economic Forum in Türkiye, discussing the challenges facing monetary policymakers amid rising global economic uncertainty and geopolitical risks.
Speaking at a panel titled “Monetary Policy amid Uncertainty,” Kazimov outlined the potential impact of global economic developments and geopolitical risks on Azerbaijan’s economy and monetary policy.
He stressed the importance of maintaining price and broader macroeconomic stability, keeping inflation expectations anchored, responding flexibly to changing conditions, and communicating clearly with the public and financial markets.
Kazimov noted that resilience and institutional credibility are particularly important in a volatile global environment. He also called for stronger dialogue among central banks, describing the Istanbul forum as an important platform for international exchange.
The two-day forum, organized by the Central Bank of Türkiye, brought together central bank governors and other officials from various countries, as well as representatives of international financial institutions. Discussions focused on the global economic outlook, monetary policy, financial stability, the economic impact of artificial intelligence, and challenges facing international trade.
