Vietnamese delegation visits Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences

Isa Habibbayli, President of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), met with a Vietnamese delegation led by Nguyen Ngoc Ha, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Vietnam’s Communist Review journal.
Highlighting the longstanding relations between Azerbaijan and Vietnam, rooted in rich historical traditions, Habibbayli noted that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev attaches great importance to the development of bilateral ties. He said that relations between the two countries have also developed steadily in the education sector in recent years, highlighting the establishment of new partnerships between educational institutions in the two countries.
The ANAS president also briefed the Vietnamese delegation on the international scientific conference titled “Literature of Asian Peoples: Traditions and Modern Trends,” hosted by the Academy. According to Habibbayli, the event brought together representatives from several Asian countries, including China, Pakistan, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, and Vietnam.
Habibbayli recalled that a delegation led by the Vice-President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences had also attended an event marking the 80th anniversary of ANAS. He added that the two academies were discussing the possibility of reaching a cooperation agreement.
Referring to the strong friendly relations between the two countries, Nguyen Ngoc Ha noted that many Vietnamese students who had studied in Azerbaijan now hold senior positions in Vietnam.
He added that these former students had also gained valuable knowledge of oil and gas production. The Vietnamese representative emphasized that both countries had embarked on a path of robust development, noting the significant contribution of scientific research to this process and the growing importance of science.
