Baku, November 3, AZERTAC
The Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB) hosted the “Experience Azerbaijan B2B Networking Event” in Amman, Jordan, on 2 November, bringing together 66 travel trade professionals representing 48 companies to explore tourism opportunities and strengthen business connections between Azerbaijan and Jordan.
The event was attended by Florian Sengstschmid, CEO of ATB, and H.E. Shahin Abdullayev, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
The programme introduced participants to Azerbaijan’s year-round tourism offering, with a focus on destinations such as Baku, Gabala, Shahdag, Guba-Gusar and Shaki. The presentation highlighted a diverse range of experiences, including family holidays, luxury resorts, nature and adventure tourism, winter activities, cultural heritage, gastronomy, wellness and halal-friendly hospitality.
A key part of the event was the B2B programme, which brought together three Azerbaijani companies, including Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), with Jordanian travel agencies, tour operators and tourism industry representatives. The meetings provided an opportunity to discuss potential cooperation, establish direct industry connections and explore new business opportunities.
The event also welcomed 17 media representatives, supporting broader awareness of Azerbaijan’s tourism offering in the Jordanian market.
Air connectivity between Jordan and Azerbaijan is supported by weekly charter flights operated by Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) and Fly Jordan, providing additional travel options for visitors from the Jordanian market.
As part of the official visit, Florian Sengstschmid, CEO of ATB, and Ramzi Al-Maaytah, CEO of the Jordan Tourism Board, discussed existing AZAL flights between the two countries and explored the possibility of introducing additional flight connections in the future, taking into account visa facilitation measures.
