NATO Training Course opens in Baku

The opening ceremony of the third workshop of the Partner Capacity Coherence Initiative 2026 and the Self-Evaluation Level 1 (SEL 1) exercise, held under the Partnership for Peace programme between Azerbaijan and NATO, took place in Baku, the Ministry of Defense told AZERTAC.
The event was attended by servicemen from the Azerbaijan Army and partner countries.
Participants will attend sessions on planning and conducting training within the Military Decision-Making Process, using a peace support operation scenario and in accordance with NATO standards, the ministry said.
The ministry emphasized that such training activities are important for enhancing readiness for peace support operations, strengthening interoperability, and facilitating the exchange of experience.
Additionally, the Self-Evaluation Level 1 (SEL 1) exercise will involve the peacekeeping battalion and military police company declared to the NATO Operational Capabilities Concept (OCC) Pool of Forces. The exercise will include inspections of military vehicles, supplies, and other equipment, as well as an assessment of the units’ ability to carry out tactical tasks during peace support operations.
