Ankara, October 8, AZERTAC
Turkish TV channels, news agencies and news portals have widely covered the 8th Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Central Asia, held in Turkmenbashi, Turkmenistan.
The media outlets focused on President Ilham Aliyev’s speech at the meeting, his talks with President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and the final documents signed by the leaders of Azerbaijan and the Central Asian countries.
The news portals quoted President Ilham Aliyev as saying:
“Last year, Azerbaijan's trade with Central Asian countries increased by more than 50 percent. The Caspian Sea plays an increasingly important role in ensuring transport connectivity between our countries. Transport infrastructure on both shores of the Caspian Sea is crucial to connecting Central Asia with Azerbaijan and, beyond Azerbaijan, with international markets. Azerbaijan plays an important role in transporting energy resources from Central Asia to international markets.”
The Azerbaijani President also highlighted the need to make more active use of the potential of these investment funds, primarily to implement joint projects, establish new manufacturing facilities and expand industrial cooperation.
