Panel highlighting Azerbaijani literature held at Frankfurt Book Fair

A panel on Azerbaijani literature was held on October 9 as part of the 78th Frankfurt International Book Fair in Germany.
Poet and researcher Farid Huseyn delivered a presentation titled “Azerbaijani Literature – A Window to the World,” highlighting its history, rich literary heritage, prominent writers, and appeal to international readers. He also discussed the modern Azerbaijani language, its prospects, and literary translation exchange.
Lala Mammadova, head of the Libraries and Publishing Sector at the Ministry of Culture, outlined initiatives to promote Azerbaijani literature abroad, highlighting the forthcoming “Azerbaijani Literature Abroad” support programme, which will facilitate the translation and publication of Azerbaijani works internationally in line with the “Azerbaijani Culture – 2040” Concept. She also introduced the 12th Baku International Book Fair, scheduled for October 21–27.
Writer Khayala Murad discussed the international representation of contemporary Azerbaijani literature, cooperation with foreign publishers, and the growing interest in Azerbaijani authors and translated works.
The national stand set up by the Ministry of Culture and the Azerbaijan Cultural Centre in Berlin at the fair showcases the country’s rich literary heritage and contemporary publishing sector through a wide selection of books and publications.
