Azerbaijan, Türkiye expand healthcare cooperation

Azerbaijan’s Minister of Health Teymur Musayev met with a delegation led by Shamil Ayrim, Istanbul Member of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye (TBMM) and Head of the Türkiye–Azerbaijan Interparliamentary Friendship Group.
During the meeting, the sides emphasized that friendly and brotherly relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye continue to develop successfully across all sectors, including healthcare.
Minister Teymur Musayev stated that the strategic partnership and allied relations between the two countries create significant opportunities for expanding cooperation in the medical field. He noted that experience exchange, professional ties, and joint initiatives between the healthcare institutions of both nations make a crucial contribution to the development of their healthcare systems.
The minister highlighted the importance of Türkiye’s advanced experience in this sector for Azerbaijan and stressed the considerable potential for expanding bilateral cooperation, particularly in medical personnel training, the implementation of modern medical technologies, and the digitalization of healthcare.
Shamil Ayrim expressed gratitude for the warm reception. He emphasized the importance of further strengthening cooperation between Azerbaijan and Türkiye in the healthcare sector, alongside the continued development of relations across all other areas.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on expanding existing cooperation, enhancing experience exchange, strengthening ties in medical education and professional development, as well as other matters of mutual interest.
The sides emphasized that Azerbaijan–Türkiye relations develop on a solid foundation and expressed confidence that cooperation in the healthcare sector will continue to advance successfully.
