Baku hosts conference on tourism and recreation
Baku, November 17 (AZERTAC). The 1st scientific conference called “Tourism and recreation in the 21st century: problems and prospects” was held on Friday at the Baku Tourism School.
The event brought together government officials, representatives of diplomatic corps and international organizations in the country, prominent scientific figures, experts of tourism and others.
Opening the conference, rector of the Azerbaijan Tourism Institute, Professor Jafar Jafarov provided information on the facility and the event.
“The Azerbaijan Tourism Institute, which operates since September, 2006, hosted international and annual conferences on “Tourism education: problems and duties”, “Azerbaijan in all seasons”, “Tourism and recreation: problems and prospects”,” he added.
Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Nazim Samadov noted the government`s care and attention to the development of this sector praising the successful reforms implementing in the recent years.
The event saw 50 reports by scientists and experts from Turkey, Russia, Austria, Poland, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and other countries.
The conference included sessions on “Theoretical and practical importance of research of tourism and recreation resource. Types of tourism”, “Tourism market: current state, problems and development prospects”, “Tourism marketing strategies”, “Formation of tourism business and management. Preparation of human resources. Tourism as intercultural dialogue method”.
The conference attendees are expected to make tours of Baku suburbs.
