AZERBAIJAN AND BELARUS CARRY OUT POLITICAL CONSULTATIONS
Baku, March 31 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan`s Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov and First Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Igor Petrishenko have carried out political consultations in Baku.
The sides discussed development of bilateral relations, intensification of interparliamentary ties, coordination of cooperation as part of international organizations and Eastern Partnership program.
The officials stressed the necessity to further expand the economic relations, including machine-building, the agroindustrial complex, logistics, education, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
Mr. Khalafov informed about Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno Karabakh. He said resolution of the conflict as part of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and removal of hard consequences of Armenian aggression is the only way to achieve peace in the region.
Cooperation as part of UN, OSCE and EU, activity of Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy under Foreign Ministry Affairs, preparation of diplomatic personnel were in the focus of meeting.
As part of his visit, Mr. Petrishenko met with the first Deputy Premier Yagub Eyyubov, Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov and head of foreign relations department of Presidential Administration Novruz Mammadov.
Mr. Petrishenko also visited Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy.
