Film “Arshin Mal Alan” screened in London

The Azerbaijani feature film “Arshin Mal Alan” (“The Cloth Peddler”), based on the operetta of the same name by renowned Azerbaijani composer Uzeyir Hajibeyli, was screened in London.
The screening took place at the Royal Society of Arts.
Political analyst and journalist Neil Watson spoke about the film’s history, plot, and significance in Azerbaijani cinema. He noted that the 1945 film “Arshin Mal Alan,” directed by Rza Tahmasib, was based on the operetta of the same name composed by Azerbaijani composer Uzeyir Hajibeyli in 1913.
The event featured a restored and colourised version of the film, which was prepared in 2013 with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
