Azerbaijan, Lithuania to ink important agreements
Baku, April 2 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan’s foreign minister Elmar Mammadyarov today met with his Lithuanian counterpart Audronius Azubalis who is visiting Azerbaijan currently.
Speaking at the news conference after the meeting, Mammadyarov said they had comprehensive discussions on numerous issues related to cooperation between the two countries. The Lithuanian foreign minister was also informed about the current state in settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
Noting that the sides are going to ink some 10 agreements between Azerbaijan and Lithuania, Mammadyarov highly assessed also the humanitarian relations between the countries.
The Lithuanian minister noted that he witnessed great changes after his first visit to Azerbaijan a year ago.
Audronius Azubalis said that thanks to the high political contacts, the relations in other fields develop either.
Lithuania is deeply interested in energy cooperation with Azerbaijan, Azubalis underlined, stressing also importance of reciprocal visits to expand bilateral relations.
At his words, at support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, 55 Azerbaijani students study in Lithuania.
As it concerns solution of the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict, the Lithuanian minister said his country is for peaceful settlement of the problem, and in the frame of international law.
