Azerbaijan parliament`s Speaker meets Ukrainian Premier
Baku, April 5 (AZERTAC). Speaker of the Azerbaijan`s parliament, Milli Majlis met Wednesday Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov.
Asadov said the visit would contribute to development of relationship between Azerbaijan and Ukraine. He noted the Azerbaijani and Ukrainian peoples were bound by traditional friendly relations.
The Speaker pointed out reciprocal visits of the two countries` presidents had created strong basis for expansion of bilateral ties.
According to Asadov, the activity of Azerbaijan-Ukraine intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation helps to increase trade turnover and deepen economic relations between the two countries.
Touching upon interparliamentary ties Asadov praised cooperation of both countries` MPs within international organizations including OSCE PA, PACE and BSEC PA.
On the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict the Speaker thanked the Ukrainian government for supporting Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity.
Prime Minister Azarov expressed satisfaction with the meetings he held in Baku during his visit. According to the Prime Minister the accomplishments of Azerbaijan are the result of successful continuation of national leader Heydar Aliyev`s wise policy.
Azarov praised the current level of Ukraine-Azerbaijan relations. He noted Ukraine was interested in continuing political dialogue with Azerbaijan and deepening economic and cultural cooperation with this country.
The Prime Minister also underlined the role of parliaments in expansion of bilateral ties.
