AZERBAIJANI-AMERICAN COUNCIL STAMP CONFIRMED
Baku, 19 January (AZERTAC). The United States postal office has allowed selling of the postage stamps, introduced by the Azerbaijan-American Council (AAC).
The stamps depicting the Pax Turcica logotype are available on AAC web shop via the official provider of the United States postal office on www.zazzle.com.
Pax Turcica (Turkic World) is a name of the campaign, triggered off in 2009 by the Azerbaijan-American Council and a group of Azeri, Turkish and Uzbek public organizations of the United States. The purpose of the campaign is to raise awareness of the American nationals about Turkic communities in the United States by holding scientific conferences, establishing and strengthening Diaspora networks and supporting programs of intercultural dialogue. The first Pax Turcica conference was held in May 2009 at Columbia University.
The release of the stamp honoring the census of enumeration in the United States is a part of cooperation program between AAC and the United States Census Bureau. As part of this partnership AAC and Azeri and Turkish organizations are planning to hold joint public seminars for Turkish communities in February and March 2010.
The given stamp is a second one AAC stamp confirmed by the UN postal office.
Earlier the Azerbaijan-American Council issued the first stamp depicting the emblem of the city of Shusha, Azerbaijan, of 1843. This stamp is also available on www.zazzle.com
