Azerbaijani delegation attends international conference dedicated to Novruz holiday in Dushanbe
Dushanbe, March 26 (AZERTAC). An Azerbaijani delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Elchin Afandiyev has attended an international conference titled Novruz-2012 in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.
The event brought together officials from 40 countries, representatives of 35 international and regional organizations, as well as Presidents Asif Ali Zardari of Pakistan, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran, Hamid Karzai of Afghanistan and UN Special Representative for Afghanistan Jan Kubis.
Addressing the event, President of Tajikistan Emomalii Rahmon congratulated participants of the conference on the occasion of the Novruz holiday.
The presidents of Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran also delivered speeches at the event and congratulated world peoples on the occasion of the holiday.
On behalf of Azerbaijan`s President Ilham Aliyev, Deputy Prime Minister Elchin Afandiyev congratulated participants of the conference on the occasion of the holiday.
The meeting participants decided to hold the World Novruz festivities in Ashgabat in 2013.
