AZERI PARLIAMENTARY SPEAKER MEETS SLOVAK FM
Baku, March 15 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan`s Parliament Speaker Ogtay Asadov met Monday visiting Slovak Foreign Minister Miroslav Lajcak.
Asadov said his country attaches special importance to relationship with Slovakia.
He noted up to now “our countries have signed about 20 documents which promote the expansion of bilateral cooperation.”
The Speaker also underlined the importance of establishment of intergovernmental commission.
He said Azerbaijan-Slovakia interparliamentary working group exists in Milli Majlis, adding establishment of such a group in Slovak legislative body is advisable.
Asadov also briefed the Minister on the economic development in Azerbaijan, the country`s role to ensure European energy security and Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
He added the conflict that hinders the development in the region must be settled on the basis of Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity.
For his part, minister Lajcak said his country was keen on cooperation with Azerbaijan. He praised the fact that Azerbaijan managed to survive the global financial crisis with minimal losses.
The sides also discussed political, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries.
