AZERI, SINGAPOREAN FMs BRIEF JOURNALISTS ON OUTCOMES OF MEETING
Baku, March 19 (AZERTAC). Foreign minister of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov and his Singaporean counterpart George Yong-Boon Yeo have today briefed journalists on the outcomes of their meeting.
Mammadyarov said the discussions focused on prospects for bilateral cooperation in industrial, tax, cultural and education spheres, as well as regional issues.
He said he briefed his Singaporean counterpart on the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
Mammadyarov underlined they agreed upon conducting consultations to develop cooperation between the two countries.
George Yong-Boon Yeo, in turn, said his visit would open a new stage in development of bilateral cooperation.
He said the purpose of his visit to Baku was to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for a shipyard to be built and operated by Singaporean Keppel Offshore & Marine Company, as well as to meet Azerbaijani officials to discuss the current state of and prospects for bilateral cooperation.
The Minister pointed out they also discussed how to open an airline between Azerbaijan and Singapore.
According to Singaporean minister, consultations were underway in his country regarding simplified visa regime for Azerbaijani citizens.
