Baku hosts meeting of heads of Azerbaijani and Russian statistical organizations
Baku, May 22 (AZERTAC). Chairman of State Statistical Committee Arif Valiyev has met with the head of Russian Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) Alexander Surinov in Baku.
According to State Statistical Committee, the talks aimed to discuss current and future situation of bilateral cooperation between two organizations.
Arif Valiyev prized the current situation ad results of mutual activities of statistical organizations. He added that, the mutual activities were realized on the basis of cooperation agreement signed in 2001. During last decade, organization of statistical observations, foreign trade statistics, comparison of performances on bilateral trade, organization of methodological means and statistical publishes were realized and joint magazine under the name of “Azerbaijan and Russia - 2006” was issued. In turn, Alexander Surinov informed about activity of his organization.
The sides noted that, they intended to develop mutual activities in the direction of publishing of statistical publications, exchange of statistical methodology and information.
Direction of cooperation between the sides was determined on the basis of mutual interests. At the end, A.Valiyev and A. Surinov signed negotiation protocol.
Taking development of bilateral links and new priorities of cooperation into consideration, the sides will try to sign renewed agreements on cooperation.
