“Days of Khojaly” opens in Germany
Berlin, February 24 (AZERTAC). Opening of a four-day long action under the name "Days of Khojaly in Germany", dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Khojaly tragedy took place here. Actions are organized by embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Germany together with Public Union "Azerbaijan Community of the Nagorno-Karabakh Region of the Republic of Azerbaijan" with assistance of the "EuroCaucasus" Association, the Institute for European Affairs, the German-Azerbaijani forum, the Coordination Center of Azerbaijanis of Germany, the "Baku-Berlin" Gallery. The project is conducted in frameworks of support of the "Justice for Khojaly" international campaign.
Later, official opening of the Days of Khojaly in Germany took place in the historical building Palais am Festugsgraben in the center of Berlin. In his opening remarks, ambassador of Azerbaijan in Germany Parviz Shahbazov informed visitors on the monstrous crime made 20 years ago by the Armenian militants against peaceful civilians, noting that the Azerbaijani state has given political assessment to this inhuman act.
Participants of opening watched a documentary "Khojaly", after which the floor was given to former state secretary of Germany, the chairman of the Germany-Azerbaijan Forum Otto Hauser, member of Public Union "Azerbaijan Community of the Nagorno-Karabakh Region of the Republic of Azerbaijan", the rector of Baku Musical Academy Farhad Badalbeyli and others who spoke of tragedy.
