DPA, AZERTAC SEEK BILATERAL COOPERATION
Baku, February 17 (AZERTAC). The expansion of bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan`s AZERTAC and Germany`s DPA news agencies has been discussed at a meeting held here today between AZERTAC`s Director General Aslan Aslanov and DPA representatives Rainer Finke and Karsten Hofman
AZERTAC`s chief Aslan Aslanov said Azerbaijan`s strengthening international positions help the agency to expand its international media contacts. Aslanov found the need to strengthen AZERTAC-DPA relationship even more.
Aslanov told of the great path passed by Azerbaijan after prominent statesman Heydar Aliyev`s returning to power and accomplishments the country has achieved under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev.
“Azerbaijan-Germany relationship has developed rapidly thanks to joint efforts of President Ilham Aliyev and Germany`s Chancellor Angela Merkel,” said Aslanov.
DPA Director for International Marketing and Sales Finke said DPA is keen on developing ties with AZERTAC. According to Finke , there are favorable conditions for spreading news through AzerTac.
“DPA will steadily support AZERTAC`s efforts to spread the agency`s photo news in Europe through the European Press Photo Agency,” Finke said.
He also expressed willingness to provide a room for AZERTAC`s reporter at a DPA`s office building.
AZERTAC Director General Aslan Aslanov, for his part, pointed out AZERTAC and DPA effectively cooperate within the European Alliance of News Agencies. He said AZERTAC wants to make use of DPA`s experience in a variety of fields including marketing, multimedia, management, information technology.
Aslanov stressed the importance of journalist exchange between the two agencies.
“Organization of trainings for AZERTAC by DPA`s representatives would improve the agency`s work,” he said.
Director General noted AZERTAC very much needs DPA`s specialists to introduce video news service.
The parties reached a preliminary agreement to expand cooperation and improve news exchange between AZERTAC and DPA.
The German delegation toured the facilities and got familiar with the work environment at the agency.
