FIFA PRESIDENT ARRIVED IN BAKU
Vice-president of UEFA Senesh Erzik and the known French soccer, member of the UEFA Executive Committee Michel Platini accompanies the FIFA president.
On October 12, the visitors have taken part at the opening ceremony of stadium "Shafa" in Baku.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, President of Azerbaijan Football Federations Associations (AFFA) Ramiz Mirzoev has noted, that presence of head of FIFA and members of UEFA EC at opening of this sports object was evidence of attention of the International Federation to development of football in Azerbaijan. Speaking about development of sports in the country, head of the AFFA has told that today in Azerbaijan everywhere in many regions of the country have been constructed sports objects and football stadiums of the international class are under construction. And it is first of all merit of the President of the country Ilham Aliyev who attaches great importance to development of physical training and sports in Azerbaijan.
On behalf of the President of Azerbaijan, the minister of youth, sports and tourism Abulfaz Garayev welcomed the visitors. Visit to our country of so representative delegation of world and European football speaks that development of this kind of sports in our country goes good rates, he stressed. He has thanked FIFA and UEFA for the permanent assistance rendered to AFFA.
President of FIFA Mr. Joseph Blatter welcoming the audience has noted, that is glad to visiting of Azerbaijan on the invitation of President Ilham Aliyev. In the past, development of football in Azerbaijan was not up to the mark, however, today all difficulties are behind, and FIFA and UEFA will help the country that the Azerbaijan football became a part of world and European football.
Then, the football fans welcomed vice-president of UEFA Senesh Erzik and member of UEFA Executive Committee Michel Platini.
