GERMAN PRESS HIGHLY RATES ANNA GURBANOVA
In the exercises with hoop and ribbon Neftchi sport club representative Anna Gurbanova ranked 6th and 8th with a score of 24.925 and 22.050 pts respectively, AzerTAj correspondent learnt from the press-service of the Gymnastics Federation of Azerbaijan. In the all-round, Gurbanova took the sixth place with 92.950 pts.
“Anna Gurbanova was fantastic in hoop exercises. Such strong gymnasts as Natalia Godunko (Ukraine) and Inna Zhukova (Belarus) were behind the promising athlete from Azerbaijan. At the upcoming tournament in Baku, 2005 she will be considered as one of the favorites”, German press claims.
Ukrainian Anna Bessonova became Berlin Grand Prix winner. She was recognized “Miss Grand Prix-2004” by the spectators. The second spot was secured by Olga Kapranova from Russia while Zhukova (Belarus) ranked third.
Azerbaijani athletes are expected to compete in the international tournaments in Italy and Netherlands, press-service said.
