INT’L PEACE DAY MARKED AT THE AZERBAIJAN OMBUDSMAN OFFICE
Ombudsman of Azerbaijan Ms. Elmira Suleymanova gave a high assessment to the celebrations dedicated to the World Peace Day. Today Azerbaijan faces a crucial problem - it should bring to the notice of the world peaceful forces its fair cause, attract attention of the international influential organizations to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, she said. The people of Azerbaijan always support peace efforts of the democratic states and express solidarity with them.
Member of Parliament Asmatkhanum Mammadova, UNIFEM’s representative in Baku Patricia McPhillips and other orators spoke of the success of the Azerbaijan Ombudsman, human rights affairs, role of women and youth in peacemaking process.
In the frame of the event, was held presentation of the book ‘Pease culture education - gender perspectives’.
Finally, Elmira Suleymanova was conferred with the peace award of the United Cultural Convention of American Biography Institute. She was also offered to work as the Secretary General of this structure.
