Meeting at the Ministry of Education
Baku, June 29 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijani Minister of Education Misir Mardanov has met today Walter Fust, the former Head of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), CEO/Director of the Global Humanitarian Forum in Geneva, chairman of UNESCO's International Program for the Development and Communication (IPDC) and President of Globethics, as well as Libya Human Rights Activist & Human Development Expert Dr. Farida Allaghi.
During the meeting, Azerbaijani minister spoke about the state care to the field of education in Azerbaijan, saying “significant state programs and vital projects were worked out and implemented here to further extend the education”.
He also touched upon the special attention and care shown by the First Lady of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO goodwill ambassador, MP Mehriban Aliyeva to the field of education in the country.
Speaking about the education system of Azerbaijan, Mardanov updated the guests on the projects and reforms being implemented in this field, saying “application of information communication technologies in education is a priority”.
The minister also touched upon the relations between the Ministry, UNICEF and UNESCO, saying “number of joint events were conducted under these relations”.
For her part, Dr. Farida Allaghi spoke about the education conditions existing in Libya as well as in other Arabic countries.
Mr. Walter Fust also highlighted the educational issues, including implementation of the information-communication technologies and gained achievements in this field.
He put forward a proposal on creation of the joint cooperation furthermore.
