NATIONAL INDEPENDENCE DAY OF ISRAEL MARKED IN BAKU

Baku, April 21 (AZERTAC). A concert to mark the 62nd anniversary of the establishment of the Jewish state took place April 19 at the Muslim Magomayev Azerbaijan State Philharmonic Hall.

Prior to the beginning of the concert, Ambassador of Israel to Azerbaijan Mikhael Lavon Lotem described the long and hard path to independence. The diplomat emphasized highest level of bilateral relations between Israel and Azerbaijan. The Ambassador expressed gratitude to the leadership of Azerbaijan for the policy of toleration.

Azeri Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov congratulated the people of Israel on the day of Independence, adding that Azerbaijan has always had good relations with Israel. “Now strengthening of bilateral relations between two countries can benefit from economic cooperation”, the Minister said.

After the official part of the ceremony, there was held a concert featuring Israeli opera stars, Uzeir Hajibeyli Azerbaijan State Symphonic Orchestra and other performers.
