National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s 103rd anniversary marked in Paris

The 103rd anniversary of National Leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev was commemorated in Paris.
At the memorial event organized by the Embassy of Azerbaijan in France, Ambassador Leyla Abdullayeva, Azerbaijan’s Permanent Delegate to UNESCO Elman Abdullayev, and the Military Attaché of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces in France, Colonel Javid Abdullayev, delivered speeches. They highlighted how the National Leader successfully guided the Azerbaijani people through the complex historical and political challenges of the time and his resolute struggle for the country’s independence.
It was stated that thanks to the National Leader’s strategy, Azerbaijan has today become a guarantor of stability throughout the region. The National Leader also played an indispensable role in Azerbaijan’s establishment of close cooperation with UNESCO and other influential international organizations, as well as its membership in numerous global institutions.
The speakers emphasized that modern Azerbaijan, confidently advancing along the path of sustainable development, represents the triumph of Heydar Aliyev’s life mission, and that the policy founded by the National Leader is being successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev.
It was noted that modern independent Azerbaijan — the masterpiece of the National Leader — restored its sovereignty and territorial integrity under the leadership of the Victorious Commander-in-Chief, President Ilham Aliyev, through the glorious victory in the 44-day Patriotic War in 2020 and the local anti-terror measures in 2023.
Thanks to the farsighted policy of President Ilham Aliyev, who successfully continues the wise political course of the National Leader, Azerbaijan is currently experiencing one of the strongest periods in its history. As a victorious and influential state, Azerbaijan is confidently advancing toward new heights in the international arena.
The event concluded with remarks that the cherished memory of Heydar Aliyev — who rendered unparalleled services to the Azerbaijani people, took lifelong pride in being Azerbaijani, and remains a source of national pride — is always honored and remembered with gratitude by the Azerbaijani people.
A film highlighting the life and legacy of the National Leader was then screened.
