National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s 103rd anniversary marked in Croatia

The Embassy of Azerbaijan in Croatia organized an event dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of National Leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev at the Libertas University, one of the leading universities in Croatia.
Addressing the event, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Croatia Anar Imanov highlighted the life and activities of Heydar Aliyev. He said the National Leader’s strategic vision and unwavering resolve laid the foundation for the idea of national statehood in Azerbaijan.
Noting that political strategy established by the National Leader is being successfully continued today by President Ilham Aliyev, the diplomat provided extensive information to the event participants on Azerbaijan’s modern history and restoration of justice.
The diplomat emphasized that during the 44-day Patriotic War, a turning point in the country’s history, the victorious Azerbaijani army, under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, liberated its ancestral lands from Armenian occupation. He further mentioned that following the local anti-terrorist measures carried out in September 2023, the country's territorial integrity was fully restored.
The event participants also highlighted Azerbaijan-Croatia relations, underscoring the successful development of a friendly and strategic partnership between the two countries.
Afterwards, participants viewed a photo exhibition highlighting the life and tireless activities of the National Leader, as well as watched a documentary on Azerbaijan's rich history and modern realities.
The event concluded with the donation of books and magazines published in English and Croatian to the university library, as well as to the faculty's teaching staff and students.
