Azerbaijan is among the countries represented at the International Education Fair 2026 (IEF), taking place in Astana, Kazakhstan.
Representatives of international universities attending the fair inform visitors about available study programmes, admission criteria, and scholarship opportunities.
In her interview with AZERTAC, Shabnam Safarova, Director of the “Study in Azerbaijan” project, said that visitors are being provided with information about Azerbaijan’s higher education institutions, their academic programmes, and the advantages of studying in the country.
She noted that both students and school pupils, as well as their parents, are expressing interest in Azerbaijan’s higher education institutions and academic environment. Shabnam Safarova noted that although they had participated in similar exhibitions several times, interest in studying in Azerbaijan was particularly strong this year.
“People are now approaching us specifically to learn about studying in Azerbaijan, showing that our efforts to promote the country’s educational opportunities in recent years have been successful,” she stressed.
Sabina Aliyeva, Head of the International Student Affairs Department at Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University, also expressed the university’s satisfaction with participating in the large-scale international education fair.
During the fair, growing interest in Azerbaijani universities has been observed, with many young people enquiring about study opportunities in the country, she emphasized.
The international education fair, spanning five cities, will continue in Almaty on October 18, Bishkek on October 20, and Tashkent on October 22, following its stop in Astana. The tour will conclude in Baku on October 24.
