OSCE CHAIRPERSON-IN-OFFICE MEETS REPRESENTATIVES OF POLITICAL PARTIES IN BAKU
Baku, February 16 (AZERTAC). As part of his visit to Azerbaijan, OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Kazakh Secretary of State and Foreign Minister Kanat Saudabayev met Monday representatives of local political parties.
The talks focused on the current political situation in the country and Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Deputy Chairman, Executive Secretary of New Azerbaijan Party, MP Ali Ahmadov expressed regret that the dispute “still remains unresolved.”
He described the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs` efforts to settle the conflict as “fruitless.”
Ahmadov noted the root cause of the conflict was Armenia`s baseless territorial claims against Azerbaijan, “as a result of which 20 percent of our territories were occupied.”
He also underlined Yerevan does not honor the United Nations Security Council`s four resolutions on unconditional withdrawal of the Armenian armed forces from the occupied territories.
