Presidential Library hosts event marking 103rd anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev

On May 8, the Presidential Library hosted an event dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of the birth of National Leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev.
The event began with the playing of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, followed by a minute of silence in memory of the National Leader.
Director of the Presidential Library, Professor Afet Abbasova opened the event with an introductory speech, highlighting Heydar Aliyev's historical contributions to shaping the political course of the modern Azerbaijani state, strengthening the traditions of public administration, and defining the national development strategy. She noted that the rich statehood heritage of the National Leader and the fundamental ideas he put forth remain relevant in the socio-political life of modern Azerbaijan. Professor Afet Abbasova also emphasized that the Presidential Library is implementing consistent systematic activities to collect, systematize, and present to the general public materials on the life and activities of Heydar Aliyev.
The event was addressed by Zakir Ismayilov, Head of the Library Automation, Digitization, and Electronic Resources Section, Farida Namazova, Head of the Art Books Collection Group, and Anastasia Kosayeva, Head of the Rare Books Collection Group.
The speakers highlighted Heydar Aliyev's multifaceted statehood activities, his work to strengthen Azerbaijani statehood, and the policies he implemented to protect and develop national and moral values.
As part of the event, an extensive book and photo exhibition dedicated to the life and activities of National Leader Heydar Aliyev was presented at the Presidential Library. The exhibition displayed publications and photographic materials related to the Great Leader's state-building activities, foreign policy strategy, and initiatives to develop science, culture, and other fields.
A virtual exhibition prepared by the Presidential Library was also presented to the participants. The virtual exhibition features the National Leader’s legacy to a wider audience. It provides visitors with the opportunity to interactively familiarize themselves with materials about his life and political activities.
The event concluded with the screening of a video dedicated to the life and activities of National Leader Heydar Aliyev.
