SOCAR to hold international conference
Baku, October 28 (AZERTAC). SOCAR, German Institute for Economic Research (DIW econ GmbH), and the Global Gas Flaring Reduction (GGFR) of World Bank will host an international conference dedicated to “initiatives of oil and gas companies of the Caspian Sea countries on reduction of aftermath of climatic changes - interregional experience exchange”. The purpose of the conference to be held on November 30 includes presentation of the instruments of the “Project of strategy development of SOCAR on decrease of aftermath of climatic changes” prepared by SOCAR Ecology Department and German Institute for Economic Research and “Plan of reduction of emissions and burning of associated gas by SOCAR, operating companies and joint ventures” worked out by SOCAR Ecology Department and GGFR. The event will be attended by 120 representatives from 70 organizations, including World Bank, German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, oil and gas companies of the Caspian Sea countries, and NGOs.
