TOP US STATE DEPARTMENT OFFICIAL TO TRAVEL TO ECUADOR, COLOMBIA, PERU
Baku, April 2 (AZERTAC). A top U.S. State Department official is traveling to Ecuador, Colombia and Peru to discuss security cooperation, governance and human rights.
The State Department says Arturo Valenzuela, the U.S. assistant secretary of state for Western Hemisphere affairs, departs Sunday on the week-long trip. It says Valenzuela will meet with students at a university in Ecuador, the University Tecnica Particular de Loja, and deliver a speech on U.S. foreign policy at the Latin American Faculty for Social Sciences.
While in Colombia, he is to give a speech in Bogota at the Universidad de los Andes, and participate in the World Economic Forum in Cartagena.
In Peru, the last stop of the trip, he is to meet with government officials and political and economic analysts, and visit alternative development projects.
