TURKEY`s US EMBASSY PROTESTS AGAINST “MAP OF ARMENIA”
Ankara, 26 (AZERTAC). The Turkish embassy to the United States has voiced a strong protest after a map hanging at an event hosted by the George Washington University featured territories of Turkey, Azerbaijan, Iran and Iraq as part of Armenia.
A Turkish diplomat who attended the seminar called “Turkish-Armenian Protocols: Realities and Myths” sharply condemned the map of so-called “Historic Armenia”.
The Turkish diplomat said the map was to the contrary of the subject of the seminar.
The embassy official said: “The seminar`s organizers didn’t invite any expert that could express Turkey’s position, and therefore violated the principle of neutrality.”
Professor of the George Washington Law School Sean Murphy made an apologize, saying the map was taken from Google.
