Turkish Gendarmerie Forces Commander arrives in Azerbaijan
Baku, June 11 (AZERTAC). Commander of the Turkish Gendarmerie Forces, General Bekir Kalyoncu has arrived in Azerbaijan.
He visited the Alley of Honors here to put a wreath at the tomb of Azerbaijan`s national leader, founder and architect of modern Azerbaijani state Heydar Aliyev.
Commander of the Turkish Gendarmerie Forces also visited the Alley of Martyrs to commemorate Azerbaijani heroes who gave their lives for the country`s independence and territorial integrity and a monument of Turkish martyrs who died for Azerbaijan`s independence in 1918.
Then, Bekir Kalyoncu has met with Azerbaijan`s Deputy Interior Minister, Commander of the Internal Troops, Lieutenant-General Zakir Hasanov.
The sides exchanged views on development of the relations between the Gendarmerie Forces of Turkey and Internal Troops of Azerbaijan.
The Azerbaijan`s Deputy Interior Minister praised the Bekir Kalyoncu`s visit. He said several visits would help development of the bilateral relations.
Bekir Kalyoncu is also expected to meet with Azerbaijan`s Ministers of Internal Affairs and Defence.
The Turkish General will also visit a military unit of the internal troops in Guba.
