Use of illegal software decreased in Azerbaijan
Baku, May 17 (AZERTAC). The software piracy level in Azerbaijan in 2011 was 87 percent or one point less than in 2010.
"The stabile improvement of the situation has been recently observed in Azerbaijan," the Business Software Alliance (BSA) said.
The piracy rate in the country was 94 percent in 2006, in 2007 - 92 percent, in 2008 - 90 percent, in 2009 and 2010 - 88 percent.
According to BSA, the market volume of illegal software used in Azerbaijan in 2011 was 67 million or $10 million more than in 2010.
The piracy rate in Moldova is 90 percent, Belarus - 87 percent, Kazakhstan - 76 percent and Russia - 63 percent among the CIS countries.
The highest level of pirated products was in neighboring Georgia at 91 percent.
This new record was set due to the increased supply of personal computers to the countries with developing economies.
