20th edition of Baku Summer Energy School commences VIDEO

The official opening ceremony of the 20th anniversary edition of the Baku Summer Energy School, organized by the Institute for Development and Diplomacy of ADA University, the ADA University Foundation, SOCAR, bp, GL Group, Kolin, and the Clean Energy Center for the ECO Region (CECECO), was held on July 6.
As one of the leading platforms promoting international dialogue on energy security, energy diplomacy, energy transition, and sustainable development, the Baku Summer Energy School brought together government officials, representatives of international organizations, heads of energy companies, academics, and young professionals from around the world.
Opening remarks were delivered by Hafiz Pashayev, Rector of ADA University; Mukhtar Babayev, Representative of the President of Azerbaijan for Climate Issues and COP29 President; Elnur Sultanov, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Energy; Ziba Mustafayeva, Vice President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR); Giovanni Cristofoli, bp Regional President for Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Türkiye; and Ilgar Ibrahimli, Vice President for External Affairs and Communications at GL Group.
The speakers discussed Azerbaijan's contributions to the global energy sector, the importance of the program, the rapidly changing geopolitical and macroeconomic landscape, as well as current issues related to climate change.
The session was moderated by ADA University Vice Rector Professor Fariz Ismayilzadeh.
As part of the event, ADA University and the Clean Energy Center for the ECO Region (CECECO) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen cooperation.
During the two-week program, participants will attend lectures and panel discussions on topics including energy markets and economics, geopolitics, energy diplomacy, renewable energy, energy financing, energy transition, and regional energy cooperation.
As part of their visit to Garabagh, the participants will familiarize themselves with the reconstruction and green energy projects being implemented in the cities of Aghdam, Jabrayil, Zangilan, and Shusha.
