"NOBEL FAMILY AND BAKU OIL" EXHIBITION OPENS IN BRUSSELS
Baku, February 24 (AZERTAC). EC headquarters in Brussels housed “Nobel Family and Baku Oil” exhibition dedicated to the Nobel brothers, who have contributed a lot to the Baku oil industry development in the late 19th -early 20th century. The exhibition was supported by Azerbaijan Mission to the European Union, SOCAR, Statoil, Azerbaijan Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Noble Heritage Foundation.
The opening was addressed by Emin Eyyubov, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Belgium, Murad Heydarov, SOCAR President’s Adviser, Günther Oettinger and Andris Piebalgs, European Commissioners for Energy in the European Commission.
The exhibition featured photos and audio-visual materials. Members of the Nobel family Philip Nobel and Gustav Nobel, Vice-President of SOCAR Khalik Mammadov, Sweden Foreign minister Karl Bildt, Peter Semneby, EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus, Special Envoy of the United States Secretary of State for Eurasian Energy, Ambassador Richard Morningstar, foreign diplomats accredited in Brussels and media reporters were among the visitors of the exhibition.
The exhibition to last a month, was also held in London and Berlin.
