ABA CEELI HOLDS SEMINAR IN BAKU
American Bar Association Central European and Eurasian Law Initiative (ABA CEELI) held a seminar for Azerbaijani lawyers and prosecutors entitled “Supremacy of law and independence of judges”.
The seminar was opened by US ambassador in Baku Anne Derse who said strong judicial system will be a basis for Azerbaijan to effectively use its potential as a regional leader.
She stressed prosecutors and lawyers play significant role in ensuring strong judicial system.
Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit John Walker addressed the seminar.
At a briefing following the seminar, Walker said he is going to have meetings with Azerbaijani officials, including parliamentarians and judges.
